In a landmark step towards transforming India into a global semiconductor powerhouse, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai laid the foundation stone for the state’s first semiconductor manufacturing plant in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar. The facility, being set up by Polymatech Electronics, marks Chhattisgarh’s entry into the high-tech semiconductor and electronics sector.

The semiconductor plant will manufacture advanced GaN chips, which are crucial components for 5G, 6G, and emerging 7G technologies, as well as AI systems, telecom, power electronics, and high-speed data devices.

Speaking at the ground-breaking ceremony, Chief Minister Sai declared that Nava Raipur will be developed as the “Silicon Valley of Chhattisgarh”, aligned with national visions such as Make in India and Digital India.

He added, “Developed nations enabled technological revolutions by creating the right ecosystem. Chhattisgarh is now ready to take that leap. The chips that will power 6G and 7G will now be made by Indian engineers right here in Nava Raipur.”

Fast-Track Execution and Industrial Push

Government officials highlighted the rapid execution of the project:

• Land allotment completed in less than 45 days through a transparent tender process by NRDA.

• Lease deed registration completed in under 25 days.

This reflects a proactive governance model geared towards ease of doing business and high-tech industrialization.

High-Skilled Jobs and Investment Pipeline

The Chief Minister also handed over appointment letters to newly hired youth who will begin working at the unit, signaling the beginning of a wave of skilled job creation in the state.

Polymatech CEO Eswara Rao Nandam announced plans for an additional ₹10,000 crore investment to set up a power module fabrication plant in Chhattisgarh, expanding the state’s footprint in global electronics manufacturing.
